THIS DOCUMENT DESCRIBES EQUIPMENT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AIMED AT THE NEEDS OF POLICE, COURTS, AND CORRECTION AGENCIES AS WELL AS PROJECTS TO INCREASE THE SECURITY OF PRIVATE HOMES AND BUSINESSES.
Abstract
THE MITRE CORPORATION DEFINED PROBLEM AREAS WHICH WERE FOLLOWED AND CROSS-COORDINATED TO THE AEROSPACE CORPORATION RANKING SYSTEM. HEAVY WEIGHTING IN THE MITRE REPORT ON THE CRIME OF BURGLARY RESULTED IN HIGH RANKING ON SOLUTIONS IN THIS PROBLEM AREA. A FOLD-OUT CHART IS PROVIDED TO SHOW THE RANKING AND MITRE WEIGHTING FOR ALL THE PROJECTS. THE RANK ORDER OF THE CANDIDATE PROJECTS, RESULTS FROM THE APPLICATION OF SPECIFIC RANKING CRITERIA THAT ARE PRESENTED. PROJECTS ARE DIVIDED INTO SEVERAL CATEGORIES, INCLUDING: CUSTODIAL METHODS (SECURITY), TARGET VULNERABILITY, DETECTION AND REPORTING SYSTEMS, INVESTIGATIVE SYSTEMS, PERSONNEL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS, COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS, APPREHENSION SYSTEMS, AND ADJUDICATION SYSTEMS. THE 78 PROJECTS ARE GIVEN ONE PAGE EVALUATIONS WITH COMMENTARY.
