Abstract
THIS IS THE SIXTH IN A SERIES OF CONFERENCES DEVOTED TO THE CENSUS BUREAU'S GEOGRAPHIC BASE (DIME) SYSTEM. AMONG THE AREAS DISCUSSED AT THE CONFERENCE WERE THE STATUS OF THE GEOGRAPHIC BASE (DIME) SYSTEM, NEW PROGRAMS IN STATE AND LOCAL STATISTICS, MICROGRAPHICS (A NEW APPROACH TO CARTOGRAPHY AT THE CENSUS BUREAU), PUBLIC AND PRIVATE USES OF A GEOGRAPHICALLY ORIENTED DATA BASE, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT APPLICATIONS OF GEOGRAPHIC DATA BASE FILES.
