This manual presents the curriculum outline and background information developed for training California police personnel in responding calls regarding disputes and handling crowd control and riot control.
Abstract
The training guidelines were developed by California law enforcement trainers and criminal justice educators in cooperation with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Specific topics include the police officer's basic responsibilities at a dispute, the advantages of separating disputants, rules and techniques related to repossessions, laws governing landlord-tenant disputes, issues involved in a mutual aid request, the tactical principles of riot control, and the basic principles of crowd management.
