THIS CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM FEASIBILITY STUDY, DATED MARCH 15, 1976, WAS UNDERTAKEN FOR THE HUNTINGTON (WV) POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHOSE 350 PERSONNEL (124 SWORN) SERVE 74,315 PERSONS ON 165 SQUARE MILES.
Abstract
THIS REPORT DEALS WITH THE ROLE OF LOCAL POLICE DATA BASES AS THEY RELATE TO STATEWIDE CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM PLANNING IN WEST VIRGINIA. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT BOTH LOCAL AND STATEWIDE SYSTEMS ARE VIABLE AND THAT AN EFFORT SHOULD BE MADE TO PRECLUDE THE DUPLICATION OF DATA.
