Abstract
Sports and specialty model passenger cars had greater percentages of large theft losses than other models within the same size class. Subcompact sports cars, in particular, had the greatest loss percentages. Intermediate-size utility vehicles had greater percentages of large theft loss payments than other vehicles. There were large differences among individual vehicles in the distribution of the size of theft loss payment amounts. Tables illustrate the data. Definitions are appended. (Author summary modified)
