This directory, which lists criminal justice agencies in Iowa, is intended to promote a greater exchange of information among the members of the criminal justice community in Iowa.
Abstract
The law enforcement section lists all law enforcement departments in Iowa, including State agencies, county sheriffs' departments, municipal police departments/marshals' offices, university police departments, and law enforcement associations and organizations. The adjudication section provides addresses and telephone numbers for the courts (Supreme Court of Iowa, court of appeals, and district courts), for prosecutorial and public defender offices, and for legal associations and organizations. The corrections section lists all corrections departments/facilities, including preinstitutional, institutional, and postinstitutional corrections departments; the board of parole; jails and lockup facilities; and corrections associations and organizations. The juvenile court, juvenile probation offices, juvenile correctional institutions, juvenile shelter and detention facilities, and juvenile justice associations and organizations are also listed. In addition, the directory presents criminal justice educational institutions and criminal justice research, planning, and statistical agencies. An alphabetical listing of the 1,536 individuals listed in the directory is included as a cross-reference guide.
