THESE DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEMS ARE INTENDED TO SERVE AS A BASIS FOR A NEEDS ANALYSIS OF THE IOWA CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. IN-DEPTH COVERAGE OF WHAT RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AS WELL AS IN HIGH CRIME-LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITY AREAS IS PROVIDED IN THIS DOCUMENT. IN ADDITION, STATISTICAL PROFILES PROVIDING AN INSIGHT INTO TRENDS, AND AN ANALYSIS OF STATE-WIDE AND STANDARD METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREA CRIME ARE INCLUDED. SPECIFIC KINDS OF RESOURCES.
