Abstract

During the year, OJARS has been coordinating the termination of the criminal justice assistance programs. Active LEAA programs include management, courts and corrections, manpower planning, arson, and other projects. NIJ research programs focus on such issues as violent crime, victims and witnesses, and police resources. BJS is responsible for the national crime survey and dissemination of various types of statistics (court, Federal, corrections). The OJJDP used its resources to help States continue to upgrade facilities and treatment for juveniles, to provide technical assistance, and to assess the extent and nature of delinquency. Lists of area audit program review offices and criminal justice councils are appended.
