Juvenile Court Services School Liaison Program Data Statewide Annual Report 2010-2011

This report presents Iowa's aggregated data collected by Juvenile Court Services School Liaison (JCSL) staff, who have been providing services to youth in public schools since 1994 and have been reporting data to the Iowa Division of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning (CJJP) since 2000.
Abstract
Because JCSLs complete data forms only when meaningful contacts between a student and a liaison occur, only a portion of the student population served by JCSLs is represented in their reports. "Meaningful contact" is defined as having at least five contacts with a student within a 60-day period at any point during the academic year. The contact must also pertain to at least one of the referral reasons on the data form. Some of the key data collected and reported involve a student's attendance, truancies, tardiness, suspensions, law violations, and grade-point average. During the 2010-2011 school year there were 98 JCSLs who reported on 4,047 students. Statewide trends are reported for 2007-2011. Extensive tables and figures
