Abstract
THIS PAMPHLET DISCUSSES BOTH CRIMINAL AND CARE PROCEEDINGS IN MAGISTRATE AND CROWN COURTS. IT ALSO DESCRIBES THE ORDERS AVAILABLE TO THE COURT: CARE ORDERS; SUPERVISION ORDERS; INTERMEDIATE TREATMENT; BINDING OVER PARENT OR GUARDIAN; HOSPITAL OR GUARDIANSHIP ORDER; ACCOMODATION FOR CHILDREN IN CARE; ABSOLUTE AND CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE; FINE; ATTENDANCE CENTER; DETENTION CENTER; AND, BORSTAL TRAINING. THESE ORDERS ARE DIFFERENTIATED IN TERMS OF THEIR AVAILABILITY IN BOTH CARE AND CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS AND IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS ONLY. THERE IS A LIST OF STATUTES, STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS OFFICIAL PUBLICATIONS IN THE APPENDIX BEARING ON THESE MATTERS.
