During 1977, the jail inspection staff inspected 45 facilities jointly with the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office and the State Department of Health and Environment and unilaterally inspected 135 detention facilities.
Abstract
A total of 17 jails, 10 lockups, and 11 holding facilities met the Kansas advisory jail standards and procedures. However, 70 jails and 9 lockups had deficiencies. Tables present inspection data and include explanations of deficiencies.
