SUMMARIZED DISCUSSION, FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THIS MEETING, WHICH INCLUDED THE SETTING OF GOALS FOR EXPANDING AND REVITALIZING THE COUNCIL AND STRENGTHENING ITS ROLE AS SECURITY INDUSTRY LEADER AND LEAA ADVISOR.
Abstract
FIVE NEW COMMITTEES WERE RECOMMENDED TO INVESTIGATE AND DETERMINE POSITIONS AND GUIDELINES IN THE AREAS OF TERRORISM, DEFENSIBLE SPACE, SCHOOL SECURITY, PUBLIC/ PRIVATE POLICE, AND PENDING SECURITY AND PRIVACY LEGISLATION. ALSO UNDER DISCUSSION WERE THE NEED FOR INDUSTRY PARTICIPATION IN PUBLIC/CITIZEN ACTION PROGRAMS, THE POSSIBILITY OF A NATIONAL CLEARINGHOUSE FOR PRIVATE SECURITY INFORMATION, AND THE HIGH PRIORITY NEED FOR A PUBLIC INFORMATION PROGRAM TO MAKE THE COUNCIL'S WORK MORE VISIBLE.
