AN ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT STUDY FOR THE CITY OF LEE'S SUMMIT (MO), WHOSE POLICE DEPARTMENT SERVES APPROXIMATELY 25,000 PERSONS OVER AN AREA OF 60 SQUARE MILES, DATED OCTOBER, 1975.
Abstract
SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE FOR A NUMBER OF BROAD AREAS OF MANAGEMENT INTEREST. THE SECTION ON PERSONNEL IS CONCERNED WITH RECRUITING, SELECTION, CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION, AND EDUCATION. OTHER MAJOR AREAS INCLUDE TRAINING, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, POLICE PATROL, COMMUNICATIONS, FINANCIAL, AND ADMINISTRATION. A 24-HOUR IN SERVICE REFRESHER TRAINING COURSE IS OUTLINED IN THE APPENDIX.
