Corrections statistics, descriptions of significant events and accomplishments, and relevant data pertaining to the Minnesota Department of Corrections for 1979-80 are presented in this biennial report.
Abstract
Many of the department's programs and activities which have been developed and/or expanded during the past two decades are highlighted. These have included the operation of eight correctional facilities, provision of parole and probation services, administration of the Community Corrections Act, operation of programs for crime victims, and inspection of jails and residential correctional facilities. A mission statement which outlines departmental responsibilities in detail is included, along with charts, data tables, graphs, and photographs. (Author summary modified)
