This report describes the programs and achievements of the Missouri Division of Youth Services during the period July 1, 1977, through June 30, 1978.
Abstract
It addresses the division's residential and nonresidential care services, its administrative support services, and its planning services. The mission of the division is to enable youth to fulfill their needs in a responsible and socially acceptable manner. In an attempt to achieve this mission, the division had during the year established a juvenile delinquency prevention program, initiated a staff development and training program, developed and implemented regional and local planning units, and established a statewide juvenile statistics system. Division statistics and the statute which defines the division's responsibilities are appended. An organizational chart and State map are included.
