This directory describes the work of the National Prevention (drug and alcohol abuse) Network (NPN) and lists the names, affiliations, addresses, and phone numbers of State representatives.
Abstract
The NPN is composed of State representatives who coordinate with members of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NPN committees promote prevention standards; encourage the development of prevention constituencies within each State; and exchange information on current prevention research, techniques, and policies. NIAAA and NIDA provide research information to NPN. In addition to the 1985 listing of NPN State representatives, this directory also lists the representatives designated by the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors, NPN committee chairpersons, and the NIAAA and NIDA liaison persons. Periodic directory updates are available.
