          Abstract
              The Department investigates and litigates cases concerning monopolies, securities, real estate, and charities and consumer fraud. It also deals with enforcement issues regarding unemployment compensation, civil rights, and labor laws. Acts against the environment are within its scope, as are complaints involving water and air, real property, trust and estates, claims collection, and mental hygiene. Activities of the district offices, administration, salient cases, and a financial report are also included.
