This report presents summary information on the processing and disposition of felony cases in New York's superior courts for the period January-December 2011.
Abstract
Of the 21 statistical tables presented, 18 present felony case processing statistics for the whole State. Of these 18 tables, 2 present action type by offense category and felony actions by charge. Four tables present actions by charge for violent felonies, drug felonies, sex offense felony actions, vehicle and traffic law felonies, and other penal law felony actions by charge. Two tables present the disposition of felony indictments and superior court information and dispositions of felony actions. Three tables provide data on top superior court arraignment charge compared to top conviction charge for all felony actions; top superior court arraignment charge compared with top conviction charge for all violent felony offense actions; and top superior court arraignment charge compared to top conviction charge for all drug felony offense actions. Three tables provide data on misdemeanor and non-criminal convictions, felony convictions, and felony drug convictions. Three tables present number of days to final disposition and sentence for all felony actions, for violent felony offense actions, and for drug felony offense actions. In addition to these 18 tables that cover the whole State, three tables present data by office for felony actions, dispositions of felony actions, and convictions from felony actions.
