STATEWIDE UNIFORM CRIME REPORT DATA COLLECTED DURING THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING SYSTEM, INCLUDING INFORMATION ON INDEX OFFENSES AND ARREST DATA.
Abstract
AN INITIAL PROGRESS REPORT ON THE SYSTEM, WHICH BEGAN OPERATION ON JANUARY 1, 1973, IS PRESENTED. AMONG THE TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS SECTION ARE ACQUISITION OF THE UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING (UCR) PERSONNEL, THE ACTIVITIES PRECEEDING PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UCR PROGRAM, THE HISTORY OF PROGRAM PARTICIPATION, AND ADMINISTRATIVE DEVELOPMENTS. DATA ON INDEX OFFENSES, INFORMATION ON THE TYPE AND VALUE OF PROPERTY STOLEN AND RECOVERED, DATA ON THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ARRESTED BY AGE AND BY RACE, AND STATISTICS ON MURDERS AND MURDER VICTIMS IS PROVIDED. ALSO INCLUDED IS INFORMATION ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND INCIDENCES OF ASSAULTS AND MURDERS OF POLICE OFFICERS, AND A CHART INDICATING CONTRIBUTOR PARTICIPATION.
