Abstract

In this article from NIJ's "Notes from the Field" series, which allows leading voices in the field to share their strategies for responding to the most pressing issues on America's streets today, Texas School Safety Center Director Kathy Martinez-Prather advises that knowing all of the threats and vulnerabilities likely to impact a school district is critical to being prepared. The Texas School Safety Center supports districts in developing multi-hazard operational plans and encourages them to engage with local first responders to cover numerous threats, whether they be man-made or weather-related.
