Relevant statistics and information concerning the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council and Academy for 1980 are presented in this annual report.
Abstract
A total of 2,367 new officers were issued certificates in basic peace officer training in 1980, 340 more than in the previous year. A total of 1,912 certificates were issued in private security training, a voluntary program. This training was concentrated in 16 counties, with over 50 percent of the schools scheduled in Cuyahoga County. A total of 4,033 students attended training courses at the academy, which was an increase of 872 from 1979. The courses attended included criminal investigation, investigative hypnosis, protective operations, arson investigation, and domestic violence. Maps, graphs, charts, and photographs are supplied.
