THIS DOCUMENT PROVIDES GUIDELINES ON THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGERIAL ASPECTS OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR POTENTIAL APPLICANTS FOR OHIO ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE DIVISION FUNDING.
Abstract
A DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS IS FIRST PROVIDED IN ORDER TO ASSIST POTENTIAL APPLICANTS IN UNDERSTANDING HOW AN IDENTIFIABLE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROBLEM MAY BE TRANSFORMED INTO A FUNDABLE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE DIVISION (AJD) ACTION PROJECT. SUGGESTIONS ON COMPLETING THE PRE-APPLICATION FORM AND POSSIBLE FUNDING SOURCES ARE DISCUSSED. THE 1976 PROGRAM CATEGORIES ARE THEN OUTLINED. PROGRAMS IN THE AREAS OF POLICE EFFECTIVENESS, CRIME PREVENTION, DIVERSION, JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT, THE JUDICIAL PROCESS, AND ADULT CORRECTIONS ARE REVIEWED. FINALLY, ASPECTS OF PROJECT OPERATIONS/MANAGEMENT ARE DISCUSSED, INCLUDING PROJECT BUDGETING, ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS, PROJECT COMMENCEMENT/DURATION, PROJECT COMPLIANCE/ CONTROLS, PROJECT COORDINATIONS, AND PROJECT RESTRICTIONS.
