Abstract
At the 2003 annual conference of the European Society of Criminology (ESC) held in Helsinki, 21 papers were presented focusing on the issues related to organized crime, trafficking human beings and corruption. This book contains each of the 21 papers presented at the conference and includes subject matter related to, but not limited to, banking fraud and stock manipulation; organized crime and illegal drugs in the Czech Republic; corruption in Lithuania; organized crime in the Ukraine; human trafficking and the trafficking of women and children in Europe; the use of and experimentation with drugs among youth in Russia; organized crime in Abkhazia and South Ossetia; preventing the diffusion of white collar crime in transitional countries; impact of transnational crime in the European Union; and international trafficking in human organs.
