This edition of OVC News & Program Updates contains five main articles that discuss programs available for aiding victims of crime.
Abstract
The first article, Healing Through Art, describes an art therapy program established by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Tribal Victim Services in northeastern Kansas. The second article discusses passage of the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) final rule and its implications for victim service providers. The third article discusses Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Victims' Recovery & Progress, a project aimed at helping young victims heal from trauma and violence. The fourth article discusses new efforts in victim research, while the fifth article examines programs developed to provide intensive case management for family members of homicide victims. Additional articles in the newsletter highlight personal stories of victims' success. A list of resources for victims of crime is included.
