Abstract
An organizer's guide offers suggestions for organizing and maintaining a successful program and for other community crime prevention activities. A watcher's guide illustrates types of suspicious activities and presents reporting guidelines. An illustrated booklet further describes the program and community crime prevention and its benefits and offers information on aiding crime victims and testifying in court. Additional ideas for enlisting the support of community organizations, businesses, and community activists and civic leaders are presented. Separate publications discuss property-marking programs, crime prevention through environmental design, and special concerns of inner city programs. A list of crime prevention resources also is provided. Finally, two packets offer camera-ready articles, tip sheets, quizzes, and brochures on crime-specific prevention measures for children, parents, businesses, the elderly, the disabled, and the general population.
