Abstract
The survey information was gathered in September and October 1992. The data presented were provided by the participants. Wages and benefits were measured in the following categories: entry wages, top step wages, sergeant wages, a comparison between sergeants and officers, lieutenant wages, a comparison between lieutenants and officers, captain wages, a comparison between captains and officers, police chief wages, a comparison between police chiefs and police officers, and the employer's insurance contribution. State-by-State tables, listing data for each city
