Post-Conviction Victim Service Providers: Selected Resources Annotated Bibliography

NCJ Number
248107
Date Published
July 2014
Length
21 pages
Annotation
This annotated bibliography contains resource listings for those who provide victim services after an offender has been convicted, which encompasses the stages of corrections, reentry, parole, and probation.
Abstract
Sections of the bibliography include general information about victim services in the criminal justice system; resources that discuss Victim-Offender Dialogue, Mediation, and other forms of communication experienced by crime victims; resources related to some of the services offered to victims; and a section on restorative justice. The latter section is included because restorative justice recognizes that people and their communities are harmed by crime, and reparation or restoration of community well-being can be achieved when the parties with a stake in a particular crime participate in its resolution. Also included in the bibliography are web sites considered relevant to victim issues following the conviction of the offender. There are approximately 70 listings.
