Abstract

Arizona’s PDMP name is CSPMP, which is managed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. The PDMP website URL is provided, along with the URLs for enrollment, query, and data upload. Contact information is provided for the PMP Director. Statistics for the year 2020 are reported to be 7,158,923 for the state population; 38,444 DEA-registered prescribers; and 1,219 DEA-registered dispensers. Three types of PDMP reports are available to prescribers, two for dispensers, four for the Licensing Board, and five for law enforcement. Eight other types of reports are checked. PDMP budget and staffing for 2021 indicate funding sources from the state general fund, CDC grant, and other funding. There are two staff PDMP operational employees for 2021 and four “other” types of employees. PDMP policies and procedures cover key PDMP dates; relevant statutes and rules; miscellaneous capabilities and policies; data retention; PDMP user training; PDMP accounts; and criteria for querying PDMP. PDMP enrollment  and use is required for prescribers and dispensers. Veterinarian policies only require that a veterinary icon be on a PDMP report. Data monitored or accessible cover schedules II, III, IV, and V. Data are required for medical marijuana dispensing and naloxone/narcan dispensings. Technological capabilities address ASAP versions accepted; data transmission methods allowed; required data transmitters; data collection, storage, generation, and access; interstate data sharing; data integration; and patient matching. Data requestors and reports authorized for production and that have been produced are noted.
