This manual is designed to train therapists to conduct 20 group sessions and are targeted to child sex abusers.
Abstract
Each session should last for 1.5 hours. The sessions focus on patients taking responsibility for their own behavior, exercising greater self-control, and, for some, developing better social skills. The ultimate goal is total abstinence from deviant sexual behavior. Guidelines for each section include both a script for use by a therapist and specific instructions on the therapist's role and the activities and homework to be done by the group members. Appendixes present 7 references, handouts for group participants, and additional materials for therapists.
