Abstract
THIS REPORT IS CONCERNED WITH AUTOMATED PROCESSING OF COMPLAINTS IN THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER OF THE SEATTLE POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE COLLECTION AND USE OF DISPATCH DATA TOWARD EFFECTIVE PATROL MANPOWER ALLOCATION, AND INCREASED POLICE COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITY THROUGH THE INSTALLATION OF A REAL TIME DATA COLLECTION AND DISPLAY SYSTEM (SELECT). FOLLOWING A NARRATIVE OF SELECT SYSTEM OPERATIONS ARE THE EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS DOCUMENTS AND THE SYSTEMS OPERATING MANUAL. ALSO INCLUDED IS THE RESEARCH TEAM REPORT ON THE PREVENTIVE PATROL TEST WHICH IS COMPRISED OF: EXAMINATIONS OF THE KANSAS CITY (MO) AND SEATTLE (WA) PREVENTIVE PATROL TESTS; FORECASTING MODELS; AND, A PROPOSED RESPONSE TIME PATROL TEST.
