A SUMMARY OF THE IMPORTANT COURT REORGANIZATION REFORMS OF RECENT TIMES, INCLUDING MINOR COURT REFORMS AS WELL AS REORGANIZATIONS OF ENTIRE STATE JUDICIARIES, WITH A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF MATERIALS IN THIS FIELD.
Abstract
FOR EACH STATE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS INDICATED THE YEAR IN WHICH COURT ORGANIZATION REFORM WAS ENACTED OR WAS APPROVED, CITATIONS TO THE PERTINENT CONSTITUTIONAL OR STATUTORY PROVISIONS, WHERE AVAILABLE, AND A SUMMARY OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THE REFORM. ALSO INCLUDED FOR EACH STATE IS A SHORT BIBLIOGRAPHY OF MATERIALS DESCRIBING OR ANALYZING THE REFORM INVOLVED. A SUMMARY CHART INDICATING TITLES OF MINOR COURTS, METHODS OF SELECTING JUDGES, LEGAL TRAINING REQUIRED, LIMITATIONS ON EXTRA-JUDICIAL ACTIVITIES, AND FORM OF COMPENSATION FOR EACH STATE IS PROVIDED.
