Abstract
Chapter 1 describes the objectives, structure, administration, and financing of New York State courts. This is followed by a chapter on caseload activity in calendar year 1991. Caseload statistics encompass criminal cases, civil cases, family court, surrogates' courts, appellate courts, and the community dispute resolution centers program. Court standards and goals are also included. Chapter 3 profiles education and training programs conducted, coordinated, or assisted by the Office of Court Administration in 1991. These include judicial programs for State-paid judges, the Town and Village Justice Training Program, and nonjudicial training programs. Chapter 4 summarizes the legislation sponsored by the Office of Court Administration at the 1991 session of the State legislature and rules revised or added during that year. It contains the 1992 Report of the Advisory Committee on Civil Practice to the Chief Administrator of the Courts of the State of New York; the 1992 Report of the Advisory Committee on Criminal law and Procedure to the Chief Administrator of the Courts of the State of New York; and the 1992 Report of the Family Court Advisory and Rules Committee to the Chief Administrator of the Courts of the State of New York. 126 tables and appended "Other Programs" and family court data
