              The Ohio High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office (OH) present comprehensive information on "street drugs" and photographic illustrations of how various drugs are packaged.
          Abstract
              The booklet begins with a summary of trends in world drug markets. This is followed by detailed information on specific drugs. Information on each drug includes a listing of the physical and behavioral "Signs & Symptoms" of the drug's effects ; the chemical and plant sources of the drug; applicable processing procedures; and data on recent trends in the drug's production, trafficking, and use through 2008, with attention to its prevalence in the United States. The drugs covered in this book are cocaine and crack cocaine; opium; heroin and heroin "black tar;" marijuana; hashish; powder meth, crystal meth, and meth labs; MDMA (ecstasy); yaba; prescription drugs (hyrocodone, narcotics, depressants, stimulants, and amphetamine); DXM (dextromethorphan); inhalants; khat; mescaline; hallucinogenic mushrooms; steroids; tobacco; LSD; and GHB. A chart provides summary information on common illegal and abused drugs, with accompanying photographic illustrations of packaging. Another chart shows how various drugs affect the human body, using a drawn illustration of the anatomy of the human body and its internal organs.
