EMPIRICAL STUDY TO DETERMINE THE TREATMENT EFFECTIVENESS OF THREE TYPES OF BORSTAL BY COMPARING COMBINATIONS BETWEEN THEIR ATTRIBUTES AND THOSE OF 610 BORSTAL TRAINEES.
Abstract
THE THREE TYPES OF OPEN BORSTAL COMPARED WERE A CASE WORK REGIME, A GROUP COUNSELING REGIME, AND A TRADITIONAL REGIME. THE STUDY YIELDED GENERALLY PREDICTABLE RESULTS, SUCH AS THE ASSOCIATION OF GREATER PROBABILITY OF BORSTAL FAILURE WITH EARLY ONSET OF DELINQUENCY. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT SEPARATE SIMILARITY ANALYSES OF EACH TREATED GROUP WOULD BE NECESSARY TO ASSESS SUCCESS OR FAILURE WITHIN EACH REGIME.
