Abstract

This document provides a formal description of the Subject Contact Notification Service (SCNS); it contains information about all aspects of the service that are not directly tied to its physical implementation, i.e., the service interface. The Service Overview section notes that the purpose of Justice/Human Services SCNS is to facilitate the bidirectional sharing of client interaction information between agencies and programs that bridge the criminal justice and human services domains, to provide for better decision-making regarding supervision decisions and social support, as they apply to clients, their families, and the community. It also describes SCNS's scope, capabilities, real-world effects for justice and human services agencies, summary, description, and security classification. The Business Scenarios section provides a business process model depicting the flow of information for the subject contact subscription/notification business process. The Service Interoperability Requirements section presents a list of the Service Interaction Requirements established by the (Global Reference Architecture) GRA Framework and indicates whether each is mandatory for the SCNS; it also notes service assumptions and dependencies, execution content, and policies and contracts information. The Service Model section lays out the required details of the information, behavior, and process models for the SCNS. The information model describes the Subscription Response Message, Subject Contact Message, Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) Reference information; and notes data input, output, and provenance requirements.
