This document provides a list of resources that are freely available, online, aimed at helping corrections officers and other jail staff members to manage the well-being of individuals in jail custody who have a substance use disorder.

Abstract

This informational document provides a detailed listing of resources aimed at helping corrections officers and other jail staff-members to manage the well-being of individuals in jail custody who have substance use disorders (SUDs). The resource list was compiled by Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., which is a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider for Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP). Each resource includes information such as date of publication, producer, resource type, and a brief description. Resources include videos and online learning, as well as print resources. Resource categories include: SUD as chronic disease; substance withdrawal management; overdose death prevention; medication-assisted treatment (MAT);  and re-entry supports.
