Demographic and service information was collected from 1983 to 1988 on 270 residential and nonresidential runaway and homeless youth in shelters.
Abstract
The survey included shelters in the United States, the District of Columbia, and the Trust Territories. Data obtained for each youth in shelters included age, sex, race, education, family setting, shelter services, and aftercare services. A Youth Information Form was completed for 78,005 cases, while an Information Collection and Research Evaluation Form was completed for 102,280 cases. Both survey forms, a data dictionary describing data collection formats, and a list of shelters surveyed are included. No survey analysis is provided.
