This text of the Swedish penal code as of April 1, 1986, lists minimum and maximum penalties for 22 types of crimes and explains the nature and use of the basic types of sanctions.
Abstract
Among the crimes listed are those against life and health, defamation, fraud, sexual assault, embezzlement, perjury, those against public order, those against the security of the realm, and those against the family. The use of fines, imprisonment, and other sanctions is explained. Situations in which Swedish law is applicable for crimes committed outside Sweden are also outlined. Procedural provisions and limitations on the use of sanctions are also presented.
