Abstract
THE OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER BRINGS RESEARCH FINDINGS TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE PRACTIONERS IN A USABLE FORM AND ENCOURAGES COMMUNITITIES TO ADOPT PROJECTS THAT HAVE PROVEN SUCCESSFUL IN OTHER LOCATIONS. TO DO THIS IT EMPLOYS A VARIETY OF MECHANISMS RANGING FROM PUBLICATIONS TO SUPPORT FUNDING TO ON-SITE ADVISORS. IT ALSO ACTS AS A CLEARING HOUSE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION AND DEVELOPS 'PRESCRIPTIVE PACKAGES' WHICH SYNTHESIZE AVAILABLE RESEARCH INFORMATION AND OPERATING EXPERIENCE AND PROVIDE DETAILED PROGRAM GUIDELINES FOR VARIOUS CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS.
