Abstract
SIXTY-FIVE SIGNIFICANT VARIABLES ON DRUG OFFENDERS ARE REPORTED, AND ARE GROUPED ACCORDING TO THE BROAD CATEGORIES OF SOCIAL CHARACTERISTICS, EDUCATION AND INTELLIGENCE, OFFENSE INFORMATION, PRIOR CRIMINAL HISTORY AND INSTITUTIONAL BEHAVIOR. BY ANALYZING THE STATISTICAL DATA IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TYPICAL DRUG OFFENDER IS MALE, CAUCASIAN, 29 YEARS OLD, FROM AN URBAN AREA, SINGLE, WITHOUT MILITARY SERVICE, HAS AN INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT OF 97 AND IS SERVING A SENTENCE FOR EITHER 5 OR 10 YEARS. EXTENSIVE TABLES OF DATA ARE PROVIDED.
