Abstract
FOLLOWING A LISTING OF MEMBERSHIP OF THE UTAH LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNING COUNCIL, AN INTRODUCTION DESCRIBES THE CRIME CONTROL ACT OF 1973, CRIME IN UTAH IN 1973, AND UTAH'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. THE PLANNING EFFORT AND EVALUATION ARE PRESENTED, FOLLOWED BY COMMENTS ON UTAH TASK FORCES ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS AND GRANTS AND FISCAL MANAGEMENT. A PROGRESS REPORT COVERS TOPICS SUCH AS EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES, CONSTRUCTION, UPGRADING PERSONNEL, MANPOWER UTILIZATION, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, INFORMATION SYSTEMS, REHABILITATION, AND HIGH CRIME AREA INCIDENCE. COMMENTS ARE THEN MADE ON GRANT ALLOCATIONS.
