A country's own strength to act against the drug menace can be multiplied many times more through international cooperation.
          Abstract
America has taken the following steps in order to reduce drug consumption: arrest and conviction of more drug offenders than ever before; seizure of drug dealer assets; proposals of more drug treatment facilities; and development of stronger penalties against drug offenders. Likewise, developments in Bolivia and Columbia include the passage of a comprehensive antinarcotics law, outlawing of coca cultivation beyond that raised in specific areas, and the eradication of coca fields and seizure of cocaine. Suggestions for future international efforts include mobilization of resources, institutions, military, legislators, media, and the private sector.
