A STATEWIDE RETIREMENT SYSTEM PROPOSAL FOR PEACE OFFICERS INCLUDING CAMPUS POLICE, STATE POLICE, GAME WARDENS, CORRECTIONS OFFICERS AND ANYONE ELSE IN THE STATE CHARGED WITH ENFORCING THE LAW.
Abstract
THIS PROPOSAL WOULD PERMIT VESTING AFTER THREE YEARS, PAY 50 PERCENT OF THE HIGHEST SALARY OVER ANY THREE YEARS IN THE LAST TEN YEARS BEFORE THE END OF THE TWENTY YEAR MINIMUM FULL BENEFIT EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND ALLOW EMPLOYEES TO INCREASE THEIR PAYMENTS BY 2.5 PERCENT OF THEIR PRE-RETIREMENT INCOME EACH YEAR FOR A MAXIMUM OF FIVE YEARS TO A MAXIMUM PAYMENT OF 62.5 PERCENT. THE PLAN WOULD BE FUNDED BY EQUAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE EMPLOYEE, THE EMPLOYER, AND THE STATE OF WYOMING.
