The Xenon, N.J., commercial burglary data for 1981 consist of 37 variables pertaining to 218 incidents of commercial burglary or attempted commercial burglary as recorded in the files of the Xenon Police Department. The nature and scope of the data bases are documented in this user's guide.
Abstract
Of the 321 cases of burglary and theft reported to the Xenon police between September 1, 1979, and June 4, 1981, 218 cases met the definition established for commercial theft. Data on method used to obtain entry to a structure, type of property stolen, and characteristics of the perpetrators were collected, where available. A Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program ws used to prepare the data. This document contains a dictionary listing, codebook, SPSS access programs, and variable frequency distributions.
