Responding to the FY2019 Second Chance Act Innovations in Supervision Initiative: Building Capacity to Create Safer Communities Program (Webinar)

During this webinar, representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the National Reentry Resource Center will describe the FY2019 Second Chance Act Innovations in Supervision Initiative (ISI) grant program and application process. A FY2015 ISI grantee will also join to share their experience from the application process and offer suggestions on how to successfully prepare to apply for this grant.

The goal of the FY19 ISI grant program is to improve the capacity and effectiveness of community supervision agencies and the services they offer, with the goal of increasing probation and parole success rates and reducing the number of crimes committed by people who are under supervision.

BJA expects to make up to five awards of up to $1,000,000 each, including up to $200,00 for the initial six-month planning period.

Presenters will:
- Provide an overview of the goals and objective of the ISI grant
- Discuss the components of a strong application
- Discuss common mistakes and lessons learned from previous applicants
- Discuss expectations and deliverables of each grantee
