This directory lists all NIJ-sponsored data available as of October 1992. The abstracts are based on data submitted by the researchers to the Data Resources Program at the conclusion of their projects. Data, codebooks, and other documentation are reviewed, edited, augmented with descriptive materials, and deposited with the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD), which distributes this information to researchers worldwide. Each abstract contained here provides information on the basic purpose and methodology of the study, the unit of observation, the numbers of records and variables, and the geographic and temporal coverage of the research. Abstracts are organized alphabetically by author; a topical index is included in the directory.
