Abstract
This report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics contains statistical tables developed using Federal justice statistics from 2010. The data presented in the tables describes criminal case processing in the Federal criminal justice system, from arrest and booking through sentencing and corrections. The tables in the report are organized according to each major stage in the Federal criminal justice process: tables in section 1 describe Federal law enforcement and prosecution; tables in section 2 describe Federal pretrial, adjudication, sentencing, and appeals; and tables in section 3 describe offenders under Federal correctional supervision (probation, parole, and supervised release) including the outcome of the supervision. The additional sections in the report include Methodology - how the data were analyzed and the tables developed, Additional Information about the Data - a chart of Federal agencies that provided data, and Glossary - definitions for terms used in the tables. The data used in the tables was obtained from the following agencies: the U.S. Marshals Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
