Drug abuse and drug-related crime continue to escalate in many cities throughout America. These problems have led many mayors to assign agencies or individuals the task of developing a comprehensive drug policy and overseeing its implementation. The United States Conference of Mayors asked mayors to identify these agencies so that the Conference may assist them in sharing information. One hundred-eighty-four cities, representing 48 States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, responded, indicating which of their cities have drug policy directors and which of a wide range of city agencies the individuals represent. This directory contains an alphabetical listing, by State and city, of drug policy directors and their agencies, with addresses, telephone numbers and fax numbers. There is a brief description of the United States Conference of Mayors and its activities.
