This issue of SMART Watch provides updated information on the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking.
Abstract
SMART Watch is an electronic newsletter from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking, that highlights ongoing activities, resources, funding opportunities, and upcoming events related to the Justice Department's work on sex offenders. This issue of SMART Watch includes information on the progress made in the implementation of SORNA, the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, the SMART Office's upcoming 2010 symposium and workshop, and the global fight against child exploitation. Information is also included on new funding sources for FY 2010, a checklist for implementation of SORNA, changes to the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Web site, and the Sex Offender Registry Tool, a sex offender management application provided at no cost to States by the SMART Office.
