In the T3 project, “ Tact” refers to the mastery of interpersonal communication that affirms the rights and dignity of all persons and minimizes unnecessary conflict; “Tactics” refers to the mastery of decision-making in dynamic situations that involve potential risks to life and property; and “Trust” refers to acting with constant attention to integrity, benevolence, competence, and predictability. The T3 project completed 41 training events in 15 states and the District of Columbia. These events provided direct TTA to 1,925 officers who represented 337 law enforcement agencies. Through the project’s train-the-trainer program and an innovative digital training system, the project delivered indirect TTA to an additional 9,927 officers. Overall, the T3 program achieved significant advances in the integration of evidence-based training and digital training technology with the VALOR portfolio. This will assist agencies in transforming their paradigm of police training and education that gives priority to officer safety and health in the context of the various scenarios that potentially threaten their health and safety, as well as that of the public.
